IPL 2017 10th Edition to Start on April 5 and Ends on 21 May
The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has announced April 5, 2017, as the starting date of IPL Season 10 2017. The final match of IPL 2017 will be played on 21 May 2017 as per the announcement by BBCI. According to the IPL norms, Defending champions of the previous season of IPL has the right to host the first match of the season and final game of the season. A BCCI Official also stated that he dates are pretty much confirmed, but a confirmation from Lodha committee is still pending. So, dates might be changed later. Lodha committee is in-charge of activities happening in India and overseas.

As per the dates mentioned by BCCI, the IPL 2017 will start a week after India-Australia Test Series happening in Dharmashala. The final match of IPL 2017 season will be played 10 days before ICC Champions Trophy 2017. ICC Champions trophy will be starting on 1 June in England. Lodha committee wants to have a 15 days gap between IPL final match and ICC Champions Trophy, IPL committee has said to Lodha committee that it would not be possible in 2017.

So far confirmed dates decision was taken during IPL governing council meeting in Delhi. IPL Players auction date was also decided, the IPL Players Auction Date is 4 February and the auctions will be held in Bengaluru.
